The southern extent of the Kimberley Region is defined by Great Northern Highway rather than shire boundaries and, if further defining is required, then by the extent of the pastoral leases. This places Wolfe Creek Crater in the Arid Interior rather than the Kimberley.
In line with our practice of using roads to define the boundary of a Region, the Kimberley Region extends into the NT in the two instances where the Duncan Road crosses/recrosses the WA/NT border.
The join with the Pilbara Region is just north of Port Smith.
